Chamberlain B4310 vs. Other Models: Comparison Chart and Buying Guide
The Chamberlain B4310 belongs on your shortlist if you want a belt-drive opener with a camera and battery backup. The more useful comparison is not “Which model number is highest?” It is whether you need the B5330’s higher advertised motor rating or the B4613T’s integrated lighting instead.
Below, we compare three U.S. models on the features that change the buying decision. These are selected alternatives, not a sales ranking or a hands-on noise test. Manufacturer information was checked October 31, 2026.

*For B4310 and B5330, Chamberlain describes HP as a comparison with AC-motor lifting capacity, not a direct horsepower measurement of their DC motors. The B4613T figure is reproduced as listed. A larger number alone does not establish that an opener suits your door.

Which one would we shortlist?
B4310: when you want a camera and outage access
Start here if those are both priorities. Before choosing, think about what you want the camera to show: the door, a delivery area or the space beside your car. Ask the installer about the proposed view rather than assuming any ceiling position will cover the whole garage.
Its replaceable-bulb design also leaves a practical question for your quote: which compatible bulbs will be supplied? Do not compare a bare opener price with a fully equipped installation.
B5330: when the higher motor rating has a specific purpose
Ask what the change from B4310 actually solves for your door. If an installer recommends B5330, have them explain the door construction, size and usage considerations behind that choice. “Bigger is better” is not enough.
The comparison table shows substantial feature overlap. Moving to B5330 is not necessary merely to obtain a camera or battery backup. Nor does a more powerful opener substitute for correcting a door that binds or has damaged hardware.
B4613T: when lighting matters more than an integrated camera
Consider this model if you would rather have built-in LED lighting and do not need a camera inside the opener. If a garage camera is already positioned where you want it, another camera may add less value than you expect.
The accessory generation deserves attention when replacing existing equipment. A familiar brand name on an old remote does not establish compatibility with a new motor.
These recommendations are our reading of the feature differences, not laboratory performance results.
Battery backup has an important limit
Do not plan on using the B4310 camera or myQ phone control during a power outage. The model’s shared user guide expressly says both stop working while the opener runs on battery power. The backup supports door access; it is not a backup supply for every connected feature. Keep a compatible remote control available. See the manufacturer’s guide, “myQ App Control” and “Camera”.
For a household that normally enters only through the garage, discuss outage access before installation. Do not wait for a storm to discover which controls family members know how to use.
Is myQ free, or does the camera require a subscription?
Basic door control and monitoring are available through the free myQ app. A video plan is not required for live viewing and the included access/motion notifications, but recording and advanced video features belong to paid plan offerings. Check the current myQ video-plan comparison for the features you actually want.
Watching the garage now and reviewing something that happened yesterday are different requirements. Decide which matters before treating the camera as a complete recording system. Trials, supported features and geographic availability can change.
Five checks before you order
- Read the exact model on the listing and carton. Similar names, suffixes and retailer bundles can hide different accessories. This guide covers U.S. B4310, B5330 and B4613T models.
- Itemize the package. Confirm the number and model of remote controls, wall control, keypad, battery, safety sensors, rail and any separately supplied bulbs. A product-page list of compatible accessories is not a promise that every accessory comes in the box.
- Confirm the physical fit. Have the installer check door height, rail requirements, ceiling clearance and the door’s condition. Ask whether any extension or mounting material is included in the quote.
- Check every control you want to keep. Give the installer the old remote and keypad model numbers and your vehicle’s year/model. For B4310, Chamberlain warns that most older accessories are incompatible; do not assume “universal” means universal across generations. Use its compatibility chart.
- Prepare connectivity and commissioning. The current B4310 guide calls for a myQ account and Wi-Fi before installation. Have the installer verify network coverage and complete the manufacturer’s safety checks. Ask about applicable local requirements, warranty terms and who handles later service.
If the door is crooked, binds, has a loose cable or appears to have a broken spring, stop using it and arrange a trained door-systems technician’s inspection. Do not increase force settings to compensate or attempt spring/cable repairs. The manufacturer’s safety instructions require a properly balanced door and professional repair of those components.
Frequently asked questions
Is B4310 a chain-drive opener?
No. Chamberlain identifies B4310 as belt drive. Verify the complete model number; specifications from a different Chamberlain opener should not be transferred to it.
Is B5330 automatically the better purchase?
No. Its higher published rating is one difference, but suitability and total installed cost matter more than a model-number hierarchy. Get a door-specific recommendation and compare the same scope of installation.
Does B4613T include a camera?
The opener itself does not have an integrated camera. A retailer may bundle a separate camera, so read the actual package contents rather than treating a bundle title as a built-in feature.
Will my old Chamberlain remote work with B4310?
Do not assume it will. Check its exact model against Security+ 3.0 compatibility before ordering.
Can this chart tell me the right opener for a damaged door?
No. Resolve the door problem first. This comparison helps narrow features; it does not replace an inspection or the exact installation manual.
Bottom line
Shortlist B4310 for the camera-and-backup combination, B5330 when a door-specific assessment supports the higher rating, and B4613T when integrated lighting is the stronger priority. Then compare complete installation quotes, accessories and support. That is more useful than paying for the highest model number.
